Support Santo Domingo

Every contribution - big or small - brings joy, dignity, and hope to an entire community.

Why Your Support Matters

When you support Semillas de Esperanza, you’re not just giving money or items. You’re telling 220 people: „You matter. You’re not forgotten.”

You’re giving a child their first donut. Their first toy. Their first coloring book.
You’re giving a mother hope that someone, somewhere, cares about her family.
You’re creating moments of pure joy in a place where joy is rare.

And you’re building something bigger: connection, trust, and community across borders, languages, and circumstances.
Your support changes lives – theirs and yours.

Ways to Help:

Send Financial Support

The easiest way to help is through Ko-fi, a simple platform where you can send one-time or recurring support. Your contribution helps us buy:

Food treats (donuts, candy, snacks)
School supplies (notebooks, pencils, crayons, backpacks)
Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo)
Sports equipment (balls, jump ropes)
Clothing and shoes
Whatever the community needs most

100% of your donation goes directly to purchasing supplies for Santo Domingo.
We don’t take any cut. Every peso matters

Donate Specific Items

If you’re in Mérida or the Yucatán area, you can donate physical items instead of money. What we need most:

Hygiene products (wet wipes, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant)
Baby care products
Clothing (gently used or new, all sizes)
Food (canned goods, dry foods)
Toys (balls, jump ropes, dolls, cars, board games)
School supplies (notebooks, pencils, crayons, erasers, backpacks)
Sports equipment (soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs)

1. Contact us
2. We arrange a convenient pickup or meeting point in Mérida
3. We take your donation to Santo Domingo on our next visit
4. We send you photos (with permission) showing your impact

It’s that simple!

Join A Visit

Want to experience this firsthand? You’re welcome to join us on a visit! What to expect:

About 60 minutes drive from Mérida
Very rustic village (basic facilities, dusty roads)
1-2 hours spending time with the community
Helping distribute supplies
Meeting families and children
An experience you’ll never forget

This isn’t tourism – it’s connection. We keep groups small (max 2-3 people) to maintain intimacy and respect.

Visits happen every 2-3 weeks.

Every share reaches someone new. Every share matters.

Where Your Support Goes

Transparency is everything to us. Every purchase is photographed (items + receipt), shared with donors, and documented on our blog.
You’ll always know where your money goes.

We are committed to complete transparency. Here’s our promise to you:

We don’t take any percentage. Not 10%, not 5%, not even 1%. Every single peso goes to the community.

Photos of items purchased, receipts, and delivery photos (with permission).

Our blog shows exactly what we’re doing, when, and how your support helped.

We cover our own gas, our own time, our own expenses. Your donation is purely for the community.

Questions? Concerns? Message us anytime. We’re an open book.

Common Questions / FAQ

Is this a registered nonprofit/charity?

No, we’re not a formal organization. We’re individuals who saw a need and decided to act. This keeps things simple, transparent, and 100% focused on the community.

Unfortunately no, since we’re not a registered nonprofit. Your donation is purely an act of generosity, not a tax write-off.

We document everything. Check our blog for photos, receipts, and stories from every visit. We’re completely transparent.

Yes! Ko-fi allows you to set up monthly support if you’d like. Or you can give one-time. Totally up to you.

$5 is amazing! In Mexico, $5 USD = ~100 pesos, which can buy candy for 10 kids or a few notebooks. Every amount makes a real difference.

Absolutely! We welcome anyone who wants to connect with the community. Just reach out and we’ll coordinate.

Check our latest blog post—we always mention current needs there. Or just ask us!

Not formally (that would create inequality), but if you want your donation to go toward something specific (like school supplies for all kids, or sports equipment), just let us know!
